Saafi is a private, faith-based recovery and worship consistency app for Muslims. We know the information people may enter in Saafi can be deeply personal. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Saafi iOS app and the Saafi website at saafiapp.com.

Our privacy commitments
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your recovery data for advertising.
- We do not show third-party ads in Saafi.
- We aim to collect only what is needed to provide the app.
- We treat recovery-related and worship-related data as sensitive.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create or use a Saafi account, we may collect:
- Email address
- Display name or the name you ask Saafi to use
- Sign-in provider information, such as email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In
- A user ID used to keep your account data separate and secure
Onboarding and profile information
Saafi may ask for information that helps personalize your experience, such as:
- Daily prayer count
- Habit frequency
- Closeness-to-Allah check-in responses
- Selected triggers
- High-risk time windows
- Gender, when used for worship-related settings
- Preferred Qur'an reciter
Worship, recovery, and progress information
When you use the app, we may store app activity and progress, including:
- Prayer tracking records
- Dhikr records
- Daily check-in records
- Rescue Mode events
- Recover Mode related activity
- Content progress
- Favorites
- Membership milestone activity
- Cancellation feedback, if you choose to provide it
Some of this information may relate to sensitive personal struggles, religious practice, and recovery. We use it only to provide, maintain, personalize, and improve Saafi.
Location information
If you allow location access, Saafi uses your approximate current location to calculate prayer times for your area. The app may send latitude and longitude to a prayer-times provider to service that request.
You can deny location permission. Some prayer-time features may not work as intended unless Saafi supports a manual location option.
Purchase and membership information
If you start a Saafi Membership, subscription and purchase status is handled through Apple and RevenueCat. We may receive information such as:
- Subscription status
- Product or plan identifier
- Renewal, cancellation, expiration, and billing status
- RevenueCat app user ID
We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.
Feedback and support information
If you contact us or submit feedback, we may collect:
- Your message
- Category of feedback
- Email address
- Display name
- App version
- Device system version
Website and beta sign-up information
If you join the waitlist, apply for beta access, or contact us through saafiapp.com, we may collect the information you submit, such as your name, email address, and beta application responses.
Diagnostics and technical information
Saafi may collect limited technical information needed to keep the app reliable and secure, such as app version, device system version, crash data, performance data, and logs from service providers. We use this information to find bugs, protect the app, and improve reliability.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide onboarding, Dashboard, Progress, Content, Profile, Rescue Mode, and Recover Mode
- Save your preferences and progress
- Calculate prayer times
- Play Qur'an audio
- Manage subscriptions and restore purchases
- Send notifications you request or allow
- Respond to feedback and support requests
- Improve app stability and safety
- Protect against abuse, unauthorized access, and technical failures
- Comply with legal obligations
Third-party services
Saafi uses third-party services to operate the app and website. These services may process information on our behalf:
- Apple: App Store, in-app purchases, subscriptions, Sign in with Apple, device permissions, and app distribution
- Firebase / Google Cloud: authentication, Firestore database, cloud functions, and related infrastructure
- Google Sign-In: optional account sign-in
- RevenueCat: subscription status and purchase management
- Quran Foundation: Qur'an audio lookup and related content services
- Aladhan: prayer time calculations
- Lovable and website infrastructure providers: website hosting, landing pages, and beta pages
- Email, support, or waitlist tools if used on saafiapp.com
We expect service providers to protect user data and use it only for the services they provide to Saafi.
Tracking and advertising
Saafi does not currently use third-party advertising, data broker sharing, or cross-app tracking for targeted advertising. Saafi does not currently request Apple's advertising identifier for tracking.
If this changes, we will update this policy and any required App Store privacy disclosures.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Saafi may send prayer follow-ups, high-risk support reminders, check-ins, and gentle app reminders. You can manage notifications in iOS Settings and in Saafi notification settings.
Because Saafi is private, we try to keep notification language discreet and supportive.
App lock
Saafi may offer app lock using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode through Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Saafi does not receive or store your biometric data.
Data retention
We keep account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide Saafi. Some data may be retained for a limited period for security, backup, legal, or operational reasons.
When you delete your account in the app, Saafi is designed to delete your account and saved app data associated with your user ID. Some records may remain temporarily in backups or logs until they expire.
Your choices
You can:
- Update your name and email in the app
- Export your data in the app
- Delete your account in the app
- Manage notifications in the app and iOS Settings
- Change location permission in iOS Settings
- Manage subscriptions through your Apple account

Children
Saafi is not directed to children under 13. Saafi discusses sensitive recovery topics and should be used only by people old enough to understand the nature of the app and their local laws and family expectations.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No app, website, or internet service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
International users
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws than your location.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Saafi changes. If changes are material, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
